Following the Climb
One question I’ve been getting a lot is: How can we follow along?
While I’ll be fairly disconnected over the next several weeks, I will be carrying a Garmin satellite communicator that periodically sends my GPS location. If you’d like to track the expedition, you can do so here:
When the device is on, the map will show our progress starting from Everest Base Camp and, if all goes well, higher onto the mountain.
Everest rarely runs on a predictable schedule. Weather, acclimatization, and the mountain itself will determine the pace. There may be long stretches where the map barely changes—usually because we’re resting or acclimatizing.
But eventually, if all goes well, those little dots will start moving upward.
I’m not big on social media and rarely post myself, but if you’d like to see updates and some great photos from the mountain, the guiding team at Furtenbach Adventures will likely be sharing content throughout the expedition:

This climb supports Alzheimer’s awareness, and knowing people can follow the journey in real time makes the effort feel shared—even from a very long way away.
