Summit!

On May 22, 2026, at 4:30 a.m., I summited Everest with Nima Temba Sherpa and Phurkami Sherpa (Phurba), along with several members of my team.

We had climbed through the night, and somehow the summit came as a surprise. Ahead of me, I saw a thin, brilliant line stretching uninterrupted across the entire horizon.

We had made it in time for sunrise.

I wept.
